Caregivers are worried about the high number of fake health passes circulating in France. The Interior Ministry has identified 110,000 existing in the country. Among the owners of these fakes, a hundred people have already been arrested.
Among the hundred people arrested in possession of a fake health pass, there is a couple in their thirties living in Roubaix (North). The two individuals arrested and placed in police custody on November 16 appear in the afternoon of Friday, December 17, at the Lille Criminal Court, for “supply and use of false administrative documents”. “These are gendarmes from the Lille research section who had spotted their traffic in fake health passes via Snapchat as early as the summer”, explains journalist Yann Fossurier, present on site for France 3.
The couple’s fake passes, sold for one hundred euros each, were paid to them on an online payment account. The gendarmerie affirms that the fake passes were created via the Ameli site of the Health Insurance. It remains to be seen whether they have benefited from the help of a practitioner, or whether they have hijacked or hacked identifiers. “The couple also sometimes contented themselves with sending fake QR codes on paper, with false names.
