It is a project composed in the silence of the first confinement, a project that speaks of loneliness, violence, but also of love, transmission and poetry. With Over Land & Sea, Mood explores this quest for the new world. And it is on stage that the artist wishes to share his emotions. “Containment and becoming a mother made me question the future of our societies and what we leave to future generations and our children”, says Maude Trutet.

The texts of this last opus poetically evoke the protection of the environment, the links that man maintains with nature, and the living in all its forms. “Like many artists, I needed to capture quite deep social issues, loneliness and isolation, but also social injustice”, explains Mood.

Mood’s repertoire draws as much from traditional music as from the electro universe. Over Land & sea is composed of several scenes with bewitching melodies embodied in movement by the dancer Snake Ninja, iconoclastic figure of urban dance. Among the powerful sequences of the show, the title Floyd Fly Shadowwhere the dancer enters a trance to embody the murder of George Floyd by an American police officer in May 2020. “It’s as if he were the body of what I’m telling, I am the narrator with my voice and he transcribes it in his body”, explains Mood.

The two artists met during an artistic performance. A thunderbolt, she sings, he dances and sublimates his music. “I close my eyes and my body reacts, we are together and it gravitates, it intertwines and it gives new energy. There are three of us in fact: Me, Mood and energy”, welcomes Snake Ninja.

Revealed in 2016 by the show The Voice, the multi-instrumentalist musician collaborates today with artists from universes as different as Rone or Yan Péchin.

The release of Mood’s album is scheduled for next spring.
