Two mountaineers were victims of a rock fall on the morning of Saturday, August 3, while they were climbing in the Muzelle area of the Écrins massif. One of them died, France Bleu Isère learned from the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM).
This mountaineering accident occurred at 8am. The rockfall caused the two climbers to fall about a hundred metres downstream. When help arrived on the scene, one of the two men had died, the second, seriously injured, was taken to hospital in Grenoble. His prognosis is not life-threatening.
