A chilly start to the week in Quebec

The effects of late winter are still there with the sudden drop in mercury since Sunday evening, as the start of the week begins with chilly and cloudy weather in Quebec.

The sky will therefore be cloudy with a 30% chance of snow showers in the western and southern sectors of the province, from Gatineau to Montérégie, via Montreal.

According to Environment Canada forecasts, temperatures will drop in Montreal and its surroundings, while the mercury will show -10 degrees with a wind effect in the morning.

Virtually the same weather conditions will prevail in the center of the province, but with a greater chance of snow showers and a cooling of -15 degrees.

In Estrie and Beauce, the federal agency predicts some snow accumulation, especially in the morning, when it will be -8 degrees during the day on Monday.

In the eastern sectors of the province, the sky will also be cloudy and temperatures will approach the freezing point in places, particularly in the Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Temperatures should nevertheless rise significantly in the middle of the week to reach at least 11 degrees on the thermometer in the rain on Thursday, according to the federal agency.
