The cost of the election of the Miss France competition, on December 11 at the Zenith in Caen, had sparked criticism from elected officials from the municipal minority in Caen and during the last municipal council, Mayor Joël Bruneau had promised to communicate the figures on the amount of this organization.
It’s done, in a press release the city reveals the overall cost and the share of the city of Caen. The total budget is 334,000 euros.
On the expenditure side: 70,865 euros for catering and hotel costs, 17,290 euros for fitting out the Zenith, 16,464 euros for IT costs, 53,239 euros for costs per exhibition and 175,517 euros for Zenith rental and rental scenic equipment
On the revenue side: 197,295 euros from ticket sales and rental rights, 72,000 euros from private partners, 22,763 euros in subsidies from the county council and 10,770 euros in subsidies from the tourist office.
The city of Caen therefore remains responsible for 31,177 euros to balance this budget. The city of Caen speaks of very good results which can be explained by the significant private partnership and the absence of an invitation granted, all the elected officials having paid for their places.
