However, this temple of the living arts in the capital deserves that we dwell on its history.

In June, Éditions du Septentrion launched a very interesting book on this emblematic place, produced under the direction of authors Louis Jolicœur and André Morency.

The book relates the important contribution of the Grand Théâtre to the cultural life of the capital, from its genesis to today. Its preface is by Robert Lepage.

The man of the theater recounts his epiphany for directing, at age 15, when he saw Peter Gabriel performing in Quebec.

A “magical evening” that would decide Lepage’s career. Two decades later, a certain Peter Gabriel will ask him to stage his show for the tour of his Secret World album!
