The lifeless body of a man was found Friday morning in the St. Lawrence River in Montreal.
Posted at 3:49 p.m.
A passerby reported the presence of the body to the emergency services around 11 a.m. when he saw it near the shore at Promenade-Bellerive park, in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
“The body bore no trace of violence,” said officer Caroline Chèvrefils, of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). The investigation was therefore entrusted to the coroner’s office.
Research is continuing in parallel to identify the deceased.
