A fire broke out around 9 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday October 3 on the HEC Paris campus in Jouy-en-Josas (Yvelines), forcing the evacuation of some 150 people from a building, franceinfo learned from concordant sources.
Nearly 60 firefighters were engaged at the scene of the disaster, Tuesday around 11 p.m., according to the Yvelines prefecture which indicates that it is a fire of approximately 500 m² which broke out in an amphitheater. Around 150 people had to be evacuated. There were no injuries, adds the prefecture.
An impressive fire
Videos and photos posted on X (formerly Twitter) show a building ravaged by heavy flames and a thick plume of black smoke rising.
According to HEC’s YouTube channel, economist Jacques Attali was giving a conference in the famous business school on Tuesday evening but this conference had to be interrupted due to the fire.
