One of the people suspected of the fatal fire in Nice, a 17-year-old minor, was arrested at the Franco-Spanish border on Tuesday July 30, France Télévisions learned from the Nice public prosecutor, confirming information from the Parisian.
The justice system has already found and remanded in custody three people, one of whom is suspected of being one of the three arsonists. It was actively looking for the other two. After Tuesday night’s arrest, only one fugitive remains. They are suspected of having wanted to attack a resident of the building to take control of a neighboring drug dealing point.
On the night of Wednesday 17 to Thursday 18 July, a fire broke out in a residential building in the Les Moulins district, causing the death of seven people, including four minors. Criminal activity was quickly suspected in this case. CCTV footage showed the night of the fire “three young men with exposed faces” exit the building and flee shortly before the fire broke out.
