A 16-year-old young man, suspected of being the author of the shooting, is wanted by the police as part of the investigation opened by the Béthune prosecutor’s office for wounding with a weapon. The hunting accident occurred on Saturday October 1 in Annequin in Pas-de-Calais, reports France Bleu Nord.
A 13-year-old boy received shrapnel in the face and abdomen. He was transported to the Lens hospital center. He was near a field and accompanied a group of hunters. The wanted suspect did not remain at the scene. He is currently wanted.
According to the Pas-de-Calais Hunting Federation, the shooting was accidental. According to the prosecution, the shooter and the victim must know each other.
In the Pas-de-Calais, hunting is open from September 18 until February 28.
