the peloton falls one minute behind the breakaways at the top of Monte Grappa… Follow the 20th stage

Only 184 kilometers left and Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) will be unofficially guaranteed to win his first Tour of Italy. On the eve of the finish and the big parade in the streets of Rome, the peloton will face a formidable mountainous stage, between Alpago and Bassano del Grappa, Saturday May 25. With 7’42” ahead of his runner-up, Daniel Felipe Martinez (Bora-Hansgrohe), the Slovenian seems safe from a bad surprise and could be tempted by the pass of six, he who already has five successes on Italian roads.

Romain Bardet (Team DSM- Firmenich PostNL), seventh overall, will have one last opportunity to enter the top 5 – provided he takes more than two minutes from Antonio Tiberi -, while we should certainly see many riders attempt their chance to integrate the right escape. With two ascents of Monte Grappa (18.1 km at 8.1%) on the menu, the stage will conclude with a long descent of more than twenty kilometers, to reach the finish line.
