(Vaudreuil-Dorion) A 25-year-old driver died Saturday after a collision on Route 338 in Vaudreuil-Dorion, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The woman, who was traveling north, would have tried to overtake, possibly illegally, by going in the opposite lane, indicates Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the SQ.
She allegedly collided with another driver, 45 years old, who was traveling southbound. The latter was transported to the hospital to treat serious injuries, but the authorities do not fear for his life, explains Mr. Scholtus.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, patrol officers from the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulange of the SQ and emergency services were called to intervene on Route 338 after a collision.
The 25-year-old driver was taken to hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead during the day.
A collision investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of this event.
