New general strike in Greece: thousands of people marched in the streets, for the second time in a few weeks. Citizens are angry at the austerity policy implemented by the conservative government. “We demand a salary increase, collective agreements, health and safety measures”, claims a demonstrator. A few weeks before the European elections, the movement is supported by the country’s left.
Major floods in Russia
Water as far as the eye can see: for several days, the eastern regions of Russia have been submerged and thousands of homes have been affected. Evacuations are still underway and authorities are urging residents to leave the area. These bad weather conditions were caused by melting snow and rising temperatures.
