Mention “not homemade” in restaurants: the Renaissance group’s bill withdrawn
(France 2)
A bill from the Renaissance group of deputies aimed to impose the words “not homemade” on restaurant menus when foods were not. But under pressure from disgruntled restaurant unions, the group finally withdrew the text.
Cooking food yourself, avoiding processed products, and thus establishing transparency in the production of dishes served in restaurants: this was the challenge of the bill proposed by the group of Renaissance deputies. He is now reversing course by withdrawing it, under pressure from restaurant unions unhappy with the text, which aimed to impose the words “not homemade” on restaurant menus.
Richard Ramos wants to redeposit the text itself
The unions are calling for the drafting of a new text. According to industry professionals, of the 175,000 restaurants, 54% offer partly homemade food, and only 4% offer entirely homemade food. A label that is increasingly popular with customers. MoDem MP Richard Ramos, engaged on the subject of food, has already announced his desire to resubmit the text itself.
