A laugh in the Senate. While Gabriel Attal delivered his general policy declaration on Tuesday, January 30, Bruno Le Maire read the Prime Minister’s text to the senators at the same time. A speech recited literally and which provoked laughter from the senators when the Minister of the Economy declared “I was born in 1989”.
If Gabriel Attal was born in 1989, Bruno Le Maire was born 20 years earlier, in 1969. After some applause from parliamentarians, the minister resumed reading, allowing himself a short comment: “if only”.

“The rule is that when the Prime Minister presents his general policy declaration before the National Assembly, it is read at the same time from the Senate platform by another member of the Government”, recalls the government website.
