He had taken the little girl into his home to supposedly take care of her. She, a vulnerable child of the DPJ. Alain Lavallée instead took the opportunity to put this child through an ordeal by sexually assaulting her on countless occasions. Once arrested, the pedophile even had the nerve to blame his victim.
The resident of Saint-Calixte, in Lanaudière, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual contact, incitement to sexual contact and sexual assault on January 18 at the Joliette courthouse. In addition to the DPJ’s little girl, Alain Lavallée attacked two other children and a woman. He faces a significant prison sentence.
The 59-year-old man obviously had the trust of social services since he and his ex-partner took in children for years. However, the DPJ had already intervened years earlier when a neighbor reported her for sexual assault. As soon as his partner at the time left to go shopping, Alain Lavallée chased the other children outside and sexually assaulted his victim. Sometimes twice a day, and so often that the victim is unable to quantify the number.
The girl was around 7 years old when her nightmare began. The attacks were so regular that when her foster mother went out shopping, the child knew she had to wear pants and no underwear at the express request of her attacker.
Alain Lavallée systematically asked her to take off her bra and forced her to remove her body hair. He regularly inspected his private parts to make sure. He also often asked the child to tell him that she loved him.
After years of abuse, the girl finally confided in her teacher, leading to the arrest of her tormentor. In front of the police, Lavallée blamed his victim. In his eyes, she was the one who started it, while he told her “no”.
The media coverage of the case led other victims to denounce him, including a neighbor and the daughter of a relative. In the neighbor’s case, Lavallée touched her breasts over her clothes on two occasions. The teenager had denounced her. At the time, the DPJ intervened, but there was no follow-up. We don’t know why.
Alain Lavallée also sexually assaulted a woman in her thirties many years ago. He attacked the woman, despite her repeated refusals.
Sentencing observations are scheduled for next April. Alain Lavallée remains at liberty until then.
