“Today I received my 3e dose of vaccine. I want to thank all the vaccinators who do an exceptional job, ”he said on Twitter.

François Legault, who is 64, waited until it was the turn of his age group to get vaccinated.

Indeed, it is since Monday that citizens aged 60 and over could make an appointment for their third injection. An interval of three months between the administration of the second and third dose is recommended.

In fact, some groups were already eligible for the 3e dose, including immunosuppressed individuals, healthcare workers and pregnant women.

Mr. Legault recalled that the 3e dose greatly reduces contagion and the risk of ending up in the hospital. “Regarding Omicron, experts talk about a protection that goes from 30% to 75% if we take our 3e dose, ”he said.

He invited Quebeckers to stay at home, be careful and respect instructions, in order to avoid overflowing hospitals.
