His video of “the turkey technique” to fight against street harassment has accumulated millions of views. We met Sarah, known as “Sarah la crieuse” on TikTok, a 20-year-old girl from Rouen, who has become a social media star.
In recent days, it has been impossible to miss his video that has gone viral on social networks. To ward off the insistent dredgers in the street, Sarah utters animal cries. On December 2, 2021, while walking through the streets of Paris, she notices that a man is following her. The latter insists heavily on “having his Snap” (a social network for sharing photos and videos instantaneously). “He was on the same metro as me and he was staring at me. When I got out of the metro, I still felt his gaze on me and I realized that he was following me. So I took out my phone and filmed myself imitating a turkey, ”Sarah tells us.
Destabilized, the man finally gave up. “You are sick!” He asks him. Sarah posts the video on Tik Tok. Twenty days later, she has more than 5.6 million views. The video was even shared by celebrities like singer Angèle and Nabilla.

Animal cries to scare men away, the young woman from Rouen has plenty of them: the sea lion, the cat, or even the T-rex. Because the “turkey technique” is far from being his first attempt. In another video with more than 6 million views, we see Sarah at the Saint-Sever metro stop in Rouen, shot a little over a year ago. “There was a man talking to me, I’m not sure what he wanted from me. I was with a friend and asked him to film. I started to cry like a dinosaur. ”

The rest takes place inside the tram. “He sat down next to me when there was plenty of room elsewhere. He did it on purpose to continue. ” Sarah’s friend then films a second part. We see the young woman abruptly sticking to the window.

Insistent dredgers, Sarah often crosses paths. “Unfortunately, this kind of situation happens to me very often. I realize there’s no point in being mean. If you are, you can take a slap in the face. The management of the conflict must be managed at all costs. And being too nice isn’t the answer either. But if you say ‘no’, we all know full well that is not working. ”
I prefer to be “crazy” rather than have a mess.
The young woman recognizes, however, that her technique does not lend itself to all situations. “I know how to recognize when a person might react violently. In these moments, I ignore and I walk as fast as possible, especially when they are in a group, because it can very quickly become dangerous. Here is proof, I had my handbag stolen a short time ago by five guys who were in a car in Saint Sever. ”
But behind his animal cries and his sense of humor hides a big shell. The young woman has indeed suffered “many assaults”. If Sarah doesn’t want to dwell on the details, her moist eyes say a lot when it comes to the subject. It is for this reason that she left Le Havre, her hometown, a year ago now. “This is where I lived most of my assaults.”

With all her misadventures, it’s hard for Sarah to fall in love. “I don’t put all the men in the same boat, but it’s true that I have a blockage. My relationship with men is very complicated ”, confides the young woman.
I have experienced an accumulation of things in my life that have caused me now to have a blockage with men.
“But anyway it’s not my priority, I’m young, I prefer to focus on my projects.”
Today without a job, Sarah nevertheless had great ambitions. “I was in Bac STL (science and laboratory techniques). I wanted to be a veterinarian or a veterinary assistant. ” The animal cause is indeed another subject close to the young woman’s heart. Finally, Sarah changed her course. “I really like fashion and photography. I finally wanted to orient myself towards this field as a photo model, fashion influencer. My goal is to be in big magazines. ”
On her Instagram account, Sarah affirms her femininity and her interest in fashion. She publishes many photos of herself in sometimes sexy outfits. “An outfit is not a call for rape! Either way, whether I’m in a skirt or jogging, I still get whistled. Most of the assaults I had, I was in pants. ”
His young notoriety will perhaps allow him to achieve his goal. In three weeks, his Tik Tok account has accumulated more than 120,000 subscribers, and his Instagram account continues to grow day by day.
Since the buzz around her videos, Sarah receives a lot of messages. “There are a lot of girls who tell me about their assault, their rape… that motivates me even more to fight for them, against all these men. They don’t necessarily have the ‘guts’ to speak out. Some don’t even dare to leave their homes. ”
I want women to support each other. If we have to do all the hens in the street, this is what will happen! (to laugh)
Among her future projects, Sarah also wishes to intervene in high schools or colleges to fight against street harassment and to give her advice. “I would like to help them, so that they are more courageous as I try to be a little more every day.”
