A 25-year-old man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a little girl on the night of Saturday to Sunday at the Trocadéro, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday January 3, confirming information from the Parisian. That man “known under an identity of Afghan nationality” was sentenced on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday to 30 months of imprisonment, 12 of which were suspended, with “the ban on carrying out any activity in habitual contact with minors for three years”said the prosecution.
He was arrested during the night from Saturday to Sunday after having forcibly kissed on the mouth a 7-year-old girl, who had temporarily moved away from her parents in the tourist district of Trocadéro and whom he then held by the hand and hugged him, according to the prosecution. The father managed to immobilize him until the police arrived on the scene. “Highly alcoholic”the man did not speak out in police custody, adds the prosecution.
“Not a stolen kiss”, but an “assault”
According to The Parisianthe 25-year-old young man, a construction worker living in Île-de-France and with a clean criminal record, claimed at the hearing that he did not remember the events because he had drunk too much. “I don’t understand what happened. I have a memory lapse. I woke up handcuffed in the police car”, he said. His lawyer, Teddy Orlandi, affirmed that the “real problem” of his client was the alcohol, not the children. During his indictment, the prosecutor considered that it was not a question “not a stolen kiss” but of a “sexual assault”.
