Following the Goebel concert at the Bach Festival, we wanted to comment on the symphonies of CPE Bach by the Orchester du XVIIIe century at Glossa. But the recording, muddy and incoherent, quickly discouraged us. We then came across La Dolce Volta CDs left fallow after the disappointment (sonically, precisely) of the complete Ravel Bianconi and, in particular, on this gem. A jewel in many respects, starting, precisely, with the sound recording, both skillfully set and breathing wonderfully, a truly beautiful “record product”. And there is the coupling: the piano trios of Chausson and Ravel. Yes, Chausson and Ravel, and not Chausson as a somewhat original coupling of a Ravel headliner. Because if this disc can have a function, let it be that of highlighting the absolute beauty and the “musical necessity” of knowing and frequenting the Chausson trio. With an ardent expression, an instrumental quality to swoon, a sound beauty that makes you dream… Let yourself be carried away by this hour of great chamber music.
