“This was called the white tsunami. In 2020, 2021, cocaine seizures doubled“, says Christian de Rocquigny, deputy head of the Anti-Narcotics Office (OFAST). The main gateway for cocaine is the port of Le Havre, with its millions of containers each year. It is here that carry out three quarters of police and customs seizures: more than 27 tonnes in France in 2022.
The main drug consumed in France remains cannabis, produced in Morocco and transported from Spain by truck or in cars. Managed by narco-banditry, trafficking extends to medium-sized towns.
