Finally, Canada joins several of its Western allies and other international heavyweights in calling, in turn, for a ceasefire sustainable.
A little late, as usual, Canada regained its senses. Fearing of offending one of the two parties, it is as if he had forgotten that common sense should guide him. Common sense is to ask that civilians be spared, that humanitarian aid can be delivered and that the general destruction can be stopped.
Do not forget
Obviously, a ceasefire does not mean giving up in the face of the inhuman and barbaric massacre of October 7 committed by Hamas. Obviously, calling for a ceasefire does not mean absolving the terrorist organization of its responsibilities in the face of the war crimes committed.
- Listen to the political meeting with Yasmine Abdelfadel and Marc-André Leclerc via QUB radio :
Hamas must be destroyed. The hostages must be released immediately and now. And the bombing of Palestinian civilians must stop.
Canada therefore joins a large list of states, notably allies, which have recognized the evidence. France, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Norway, Spain, Portugal, etc. demanded a ceasefire. So this is not a question of anti-Semitism or denying Israel’s right to defend itself. But rather a question of the sacredness of life, those of the innocents who asked for nothing, have committed nothing and who find themselves targeted between the two camps.

The peace
A lasting cessation of hostilities and violence is the first step towards peace. The beginning of the de-escalation of tensions cannot begin without stopping the bombings. This is why the ceasefire is necessary.
Moreover, we cannot demand a ceasefire without asking, in the same breath, with the same voice, the release of the hostages and the protection of Israeli civilians who fear that the attacks will start again. And we can understand them.
The best way to protect them, moreover, is to move towards peace. Peace is the best guarantee of the security of the Jewish people. We often forget to say it.
