Undefeated during the preliminary phase of the World Handball World Cup, the French team faces Austria (6 p.m.), Wednesday December 6, in the main round of the competition. With three successes in as many matches in Group D, the Blues rose to a crescendo, starting quietly like the opening match against Angola (30-29). They then gained power to easily dominate Iceland (31-22) and Slovenia (31-27). The players ofOlivier Krumbholz thus advances with a balance sheet of four points.
The French selection will also meet South Korea during the main phase as well as Norway, who beat Les Bleues in the final of the last World Cup and who are playing at home this year. The objective is simple for France: finish in the top two of the group to reach the quarter-finals.
