This Sunday, December 3, 2023, Laurent Delahousse hosted a new issue of his show 8:30 p.m. Sunday. A unique event during which the host had the opportunity to speak with Amélie Nothomb. Before her arrival, the second channel broadcast a report dedicated to the author. In this one the latter indulged in one of her favorite activities. Namely: respond to letters from readers.
In the premises of its publisher, Albin Michel, located at number 22 rue Huyghens in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, a 6 m2 room is reserved for the woman who wrote Metaphysics of tubes. In this den “unique in the world”, the writer responds to letters from her readers. A task that takes up a large part of his days. “I spend 5 hours a day on my mail. It’s a lot“,The content of my letters, I can in no way reveal it to you as it remains between my readers and me”, she adds.

No cell phone or computer
In her lair, the graphomaniac is easily spotted. “I know my desk doesn’t look like it’s tidy at all and yet it is. I know perfectly well which letter is in which pile and where in the pile.”, she confides. And to continue: “There are no cell phones, there are no computers. You are looking at a 100% analog individual.” Sacred revelations.
