(Laval) A police officer was injured during the night from Sunday to Monday in a collision that occurred on Highway 15. The patrol officer was then trying to arrest a car thief.
Laval police officers intervened Monday around 2:30 a.m. for a stolen vehicle on Highway 15. The stolen car stopped on the road during the operation and its driver fled on foot.
It was at this time that another vehicle collided with one of the police officers, a 24-year-old patrolman. The latter is out of danger, but suffered serious injuries.
The alleged vehicle thief, an 18-year-old man, was arrested by the Laval Police Service (SPL). Another man in his 20s was arrested for dangerous driving.
Highway 15 remains closed Monday morning northbound in Laval at the Médéric-Martin bridge, and from rue De Salaberry northbound in Montreal.
