School or vacation? The school rhythm is not the same for everyone. A real headache for parents, who have to juggle the calendar from one region to another. “My daughter is on leave not necessarily at the same time as her cousins, who are in another academy”explains a mother.
Commission considers reducing number of zones
In some regions, students are forced to wait up to 11 weeks in winter, while others have just five weeks between vacation periods. To eliminate these differences, a commission is considering reducing the number of zones from the current three to just two. Teachers, at this stage, find it hard to believe it. Some tourism professionals are worried about seeing the high season shortened, with school holidays concentrated in two zones rather than three.
