Meet at Place de la République at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday November 4 in Paris. The new demonstration of support for Palestine, in the context of the war between Hamas and Israel, has not been banned this time, unlike the previous ones. This will be a first since the start of the conflict: the demonstration will not be static. It will head towards Place de la Nation and could potentially last until 7 p.m. But the prefecture still plans a significant police force.
The troublemakers are particularly worrying the authorities, as well as the potential damage on the course. But the prefecture did not veto it because of the representativeness of the organizations calling for mobilization, in particular political parties and unions with their own security services. Organizers who are therefore more experienced and more structured than certain associations.
No overflow tolerated
The prefectural decision is, however, closer to the orange light than the green light: Paris police prefect Laurent Nunotez has warned that he will not tolerate any excess. Any comments, banners or signs of an anti-Semitic nature or promoting terrorism will result in an arrest and a judicial investigation. The system will be substantial even if no figures are communicated. The only clarification: the demonstration will take place under the eye of police drones.
