According to a recent study, sport has extraordinary benefits for our health. Present on the 13 Heures set, Friday November 3, doctor and journalist Damien Mascret deciphers this study.
A new study demonstrates the extraordinary effects of sport on health. Present on the 13 Heures set, doctor and journalist Damien Mascret ensures that “the risk of depression is reduced by 30%” and that “hypertension of 37%”. He recalls that “17 million French people have hypertension”, a blood pressure disorder that damages the arteries and increases the risk of stroke. The doctor adds that the risks of developing cancer also decrease.
“22 minutes of activity”
Concerning the dosage, a Norwegian study reveals that it is necessary “at least 22 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per day to counteract the harmful effects of our modern lifestyle”, explains Damien Mascret. He also emphasizes that it is necessary to move during the day and that it is “important to get up every hour to move for 5 minutes”. “Do small, intense exercises whenever you can. Get off the bus or park at a distance from where you are going. (…) Walk at a brisk pace!”recommends the healthcare professional.
