(Ottawa) The federal Conservatives continue to hold a significant fundraising advantage over the Liberals, raising twice as much money from donors as the governing party did in the third quarter of this year.
The Conservative Party raised just over $7 million in donations from around 42,000 contributors between July and September, a drop compared to the first two quarters of 2023.
Elections Canada figures show the party raised about 8.3 million from January to March and almost 8 million between April and June.
Data shows that the Liberal Party collected, for its part, just over 3 million from more than 29,500 contributors in the third quarter, a slight drop compared to the 3.2 million they had obtained during the three previous months.
The New Democratic Party raised more money than the previous quarter, bringing in more than $1.5 million from more than 16,000 donors.
The Green Party raised nearly $344,000, while the Bloc Québécois raised less than $250,000.
