Frenchwoman Nina Métayer elected best pastry chef in the world by the International Union of Bakers and Pastry Chefs

She is the first woman to receive this award.

Cock-a-doodle Doo ! Frenchwoman Nina Métayer received the title of best pastry chef in the world 2023 (“World Confectioner 2023”), Wednesday October 25, from the International Union of Bakers and Pastry Chefs, during a trade show in Munich, Germany. She is the first woman to receive this award, according to HuffPost. Alongside him, Taiwanese Wu Tzu Ching received the prize for best baker in the world 2023.

“I thank my peers for their trust. I am delighted to represent France and to help promote the quality of the work of artisan bakers and pastry chefs around the world with UBIC”, declared the pastry chef. Nina Métayer, trained at the Ferrandi school, had already been voted best pastry chef of the year by the magazine Leader in 2016 then by Gault and Millau in 2017 when she was not yet 30 years old, she now runs Delicatesserie, an online pastry and consulting company.
