Covered with his long white beard, the scholar is back in a new season: Once upon a time… objects. Since the first season ofOnce upon a time… Man in 1978, which told the story of humanity, the years have passed, the 8th part of the saga depicts another reality, that of everyday objects.
The synopsis is more current than ever. Behind everyday objects such as a football, a spoon or glasses hide unsuspected secrets. Each new episode focuses on one of them, detailing its creation and evolution through the ages and civilizations. The promise of this educational and entertaining series is clear: we will never again see objects in the same way.
The first season will devote its 78 episodes of 7 minutes in particular to swimsuits, jeans, toilets and even the telephone, the object of all desire.
Since the death of Albert Barillé, creator of the saga Once upon a time… in 2009, it was the first return of the series, chaired by Hélène Barillé, his wife. With her team from the Procidis animation studio, she brought a new artistic direction to the last season. The image is restored to 4k, completely changing the drawing style and facial features of the characters. But Maestro will not have his voice either, the actor Roger Carel having died in 2020. With a modernized look, the wise man also evolves in an environment anchored in the spirit of the times.
Despite this renewal, the ambition to create an educational, fun and entertaining series for children remains the common thread of Hélène Barillé, as her late companion once thought.
“Television is an “electronic nanny”, children should not waste their time.”
Find Maestro in the next season “Once upon a time… objects”. His adventures will be broadcast from 2024 on France Télévisions, but also in more than 100 countries and translated into more than 80 languages. The made in France series shines throughout the world.
