A major police operation ended Monday evening with the arrest of six individuals, including a woman, in the Beauport sector, in Quebec.
The suspects aged 33 to 60 were arrested for “negligent possession of a firearm” by the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI), indicated the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

Police were deployed around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of individuals in possession of a firearm near a residence located on Antoine-Breton Street.

While several patrol vehicles quickly converged on the area, the police arrested a first suspect on the spot. During the operation, the tactical intervention group proceeded to the arrest of five other people who were at inside the residence.
The suspects were to be met by investigators, mentioned the SPVQ, specifying that a security perimeter was erected around the residence. A search of the premises was to follow, while two dog handlers were called upon to help in the research, it was added.
