After the death of a homeless man on Friday October 6, in the evening, on boulevard Tréhouart, in Saint-Malo, in Ille-et-Vilaine, a suspect was arrested on Saturday October 7, in the morning, in the street in Saint Malo and placed in police custody, France Bleu Armorique learned on Sunday October 8, from the public prosecutor’s office. The man was arrested thanks to several testimonies which allowed him to be identified.
In police custody, the man contested the facts with which he is accused but he will be presented to a judge at the Rennes public prosecutor’s office on Monday, with a view to opening a judicial investigation. The suspect has already been convicted “on several occasions, notably for aggravated violence”, specifies the prosecution. An autopsy on the victim’s body will be carried out on Monday.
The attacker fled
The events took place on Friday around 6:30 p.m. A man, of no fixed address, was fatally beaten by several blows not far from the premises of the Saint-Malo association for development and social integration (Amids). He was followed by this association. The perpetrator fled, leaving the victim on the ground in cardio-respiratory arrest.
