In Ukraine, at least 51 people were killed in a Russian strike in the Kharkiv region, located in the east of the country, on Thursday October 5. It hit the village of Groza, while residents were gathered for a tribute ceremony.

Moscow tries to retake Kupiansk

In recent weeks, eastern Ukraine has been under intense Russian bombardment. Moscow is trying to retake the city of Kupianska city that Russia had already occupied, before it was reconquered by the Ukrainians. To counter Russian strikes which are intensifying in the region, the Ukrainian authorities are asking the West for more anti-aircraft defense system resources.
