a new “PAF” columnist reveals having had a “very serious” form of Covid

Since this Monday, October 2, 2023, faced with the low audiences achieved by his new recruit, Cyril Hanouna has proposed a new formula for the show PAF hosted by Pascale de la Tour du Pin. From now on, the show is filmed on the main set, and the journalist who has resigned from BFMTV is no longer surrounded by two columnists, but by three, themselves surrounded by various speakers who follow one another according to the subjects proposed. A formula which inevitably recalls that of It’s just TVthe consumer show hosted successively by Julien Courbet and Valérie Bénaïm between 2017 and 2020, and which was abruptly stopped during confinement.

This Tuesday, Pascale de la Tour du Pin was surrounded by three usual columnists, Isabelle Morini-Bosc, Maxime Guény and Ludivine Rétorybut they were able to meet a completely new person: the general practitioner Dan Bensadoun. The professional has already spoken several times on CNEWS in Morandini Liveand even appeared in February 2021 in Do not touch My TV, to mention the compulsory wearing of a mask. Coming to debate with columnists on the resurgence of Covid and new atypical forms with previously unknown symptoms, such as hearing problems, Dr Bensadoun revealed that he had been the victim of a serious form of Covid, at the start of the pandemic.

Resuscitation at home, due to lack of places

If Isabelle Morini-Bosc revealed that she was a rare French to have never contracted Covid since its appearance on the territory almost four years ago, Ludivine Rétory, Maxime Guény and Dan Bensadoun have indeed had it. But if the first two had a slight form, their new colleague thought he was going through it: “I had very, very serious form at the beginning, in 2020. I spent three weeks at home, serious. It was resuscitation at home. I had equipped my room as a real resuscitation room, because at the time, the emergency rooms were crowded, the intensive care units were crowded, so I was not sure of having a bed. So I had my room completely equipped, with a monitor. I was in a pretty phenomenal state for three weeks, I was on oxygen, monitored confided the healthcare professional.

The new Covid worries

During the debate, Dr Bensadoun presented the new forms of Covid which have been emerging in France for several weeks, and which are worrying both the French and the authorities, to the point that the new vaccination campaign began two weeks in advance: “Currently, it’s been two years since Covid no longer sends anyone to the hospital. It perhaps sends Covid patients with other pathologies, but Covid itself does not send people to the hospital” he explained, before indicating that the more contagious a virus is, the less dangerous it is, and vice versa. And to conclude about the symptoms: “It could be a simple nasopharyngitis, it could be a fever, it could be a cough that persists. There are also digestive signs. The symptoms can be protean, it could be diarrhea (…) because that the virus is eliminated through the digestive tract. Overall, these are ENT symptoms.
