Saturday September 23, throughout France, thousands of demonstrators marched against “systemic police violence”. This mobilization follows the death of Nahel last June, after refusing to comply.
Reindeer (Ille-et-Vilaine)Paris or Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône)there were several thousand marching across the country on Saturday September 23. They responded to the call from left-wing associations and parties to denounce what they call “systemic police violence”. “We really sees this increase in violence among the police”deplores a demonstrator. Today, nearly 120 processions were organized throughout France.
“An anti-Darmanin demonstration”
In Paris, there were several thousand demonstrators. These gatherings were launched in reaction to the death of young Nahel after a refusal to comply last June. Beyond the police, the organizers blame the government. “This is not an anti-police protest. It’s a demonstration anti-Darmanin”assures a man. These demonstrations took place peacefully. However, in Paris, a police car, stuck in traffic jams, was attacked with an iron bar by hooded individuals. According to police headquarters, three of the four police officers on board were injured. The mobilization was poorly attended. In Rennes, 900 people gathered, according to the police.
