Inconsistencies in his story
As a reminder, the woman who works as a literature teacher and municipal councilor called the police after the death of Patrice Charlemagne, explaining that her husband had died followinga burglary which had turned into a tragedy and which she and her 20-month-old baby had been able to escape.
A moving testimony… However, the discovery of two bloody knives, a flashlight and gloves were not long in being found near the couple’s home… Including a glove which had a cut similar to the wound that the thirty-year-old had on her left hand according to our colleagues at BFM TV. So many elements which justify the placement in police custody of Justine Jothan with the aim of “compare your version of the facts with the elements collected in the investigation”specified the prosecution.
Police custody which extended for 24 hours… And this Friday, September 22, 2023, during a press conference, Dunkirk Prosecutor Charlotte Huet informed that the thirty-year-old had been indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.
“Her child is a primary source of concern”
“There was definitely an intention to commit homicide and this intention existed before the attack,” she also said. “As for the couple’s child, aged 20 months, he will be welcomed in a family setting and not with a third party. There has been an assessment of the care of his needs with the hospital center and social services in a concern for emotional continuity”specifies the Prosecutor.
“My client is devastated”, for her part, Justine Jotham’s lawyer said, subsequently specifying that “her child is a primary source of concern”.
