A few minutes more early, he was welcomed by the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, and Yaël Braun-Pivet, the president of the National Assembly. Charles III takes the podium in front of 300 parliamentarians, without losing an ounce of English humor. In around fifteen minutes, the sovereign recalled the highlights of the common history of the two nations.

“More than 80 years since we fought side by side for the liberation of Europe. We are once again facing unjustified aggression on our continent. Our resolve and our alliance are more important than ever. Together we stand with the Ukrainian people.”declared Charles III. Meanwhile, the program was less solemn for Queen Camilla who took charge of the BNF in the company of Brigitte Macron. The two women launched a Franco-British literary prize.
