The French coach opted for the typical team. Fabien Galthié announced, Tuesday September 19, the composition of the French XV for the match against Namibia, scheduled for Thursday in Marseille (9 p.m. on France 2 and france.tv) and counting for the 3rd day of the group stage of the World Cup. The sluggish victory acquired against Uruguay with a reshuffled team (27-12) led the French staff to bring out the captains before the last meeting against Italy in a little over a fortnight.

Ten holders in the opening match against the Blacks are lined up from the start against the Namibians with the exception of Grégory Alldritt, spared following a knee injury. “The decision was made yesterday in training with him where he felt discomfort. It’s better so that he is ready again for the matches to follow,” said the coach at a press conference.

The Blues thus record the return of pillar Cyril Baille, victim of a tear in his right calf during the preparation match against Scotland in mid-August, and preferred to Reda Wardi. But also that of La Rochelle center Jonathan Danty, absent since the start of the competition. “Jonathan is capable of responding to several situations, not only in attack but also in defense”justified Fabien Galthié.

Only three players continue: third row Anthony Jelonch, Louis Bielle-Biarey on the wing and second row Cameron Woki, starting for the third time in a row. A rotation which is often debated but which the technician of the XV of France explained: “HASWith the staff, we put together our teams for the week, the day after the match. We have a construction mechanism that works day after day, depending on the feeling of the players, the playing times that we monitor and the emulation that we work on. It’s adaptation.”

For everyone, this match against Namibia should allow “carry out a successful, clean service”in the words of Louis Bielle-Biarrey, while leaving behind the “frustration” born from the match against Uruguay. You will have to show yourself “patient, because even if it is an inferior team to ours on paper, it is not by throwing balls everywhere that we will pierce them”warned fullback Thomas Ramos.
