Inflation rises to 4% in Canada

The inflation rate rose in August for a second consecutive month to reach 4% at an annual rate.

According to Statistics Canada, the month-over-month increase is explained by the increase in the price of gasoline and the increase in the price of rent and mortgage interest. At the grocery store, price growth is slowing, but remains high, at 6.9%.

More details to come.
