A letter sent to the parents of Nicolas, a 15-year-old teenager who committed suicide, threatens the parents to file a complaint against them because of an overly vehement attitude.
Having remained very discreet since the suicide of their son Nicolas, buried Friday September 15, his parents have decided to break their silence. In an interview with Agence France Presse, Béatrice, the teenager’s mother, looks back on the eight months which preceded his suicide, the multiple alerts, and the inertia of the administration. “We still do not know if any sanction, even symbolic, was issued against the harassers.”she laments.
Letter from the rectorate
But the most shocking for her were the letters from the rectorate of Versailles (Yvelines) received last May. He criticizes the parents for their vehemence regarding the supposed harassment, recalling that acts of slanderous denunciation are punishable by five years of imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros. The rectorate even threatens to file a complaint. Anti-harassment associations also say they are shocked. The letter immediately caused the Minister of Education to react. “This letter is a shame”said Gabriel Attal.
