On this national holiday, India was honored with the parade on the Champs-Élysées. This Asian country has made new promises to buy gusts.
July 14 went almost without a hitch. From the acrobats of the Patrouille de France to the snipers, 6,500 soldiers marched alongside the Indian delegation, France’s guest of honor. India is one of the world’s biggest arms buyers. It deployed its Rafales, presented as a symbol of 25 years of strategic partnership with France. The day before, the Indian Prime Minister gave his agreement for the purchase of 26 new aircraft and three submarines.
Africa also in the spotlight
On the fields-Élysées, in Paris, Indian spectators were happy to be there for the event. Africa was also honored. Students from seven military high schools marched. The ceremony was barely disturbed by the fall of a kepi on the cobblestones. France also made a point of showing tanks such as those sent to Ukraine.
