The French artist Saype created a monumental fresco at the foot of Mont-Blanc, which can be seen by taking the Courmayeur cable car.
Courmayeur (Italy) is a place where the eye is always drawn to the peaks. But hasAt the foot of Mont-Blanc, 2,000 meters above sea level, lowering your eyes reveals a fresco monumental. “The fresco represents a lady who holds her granddaughter in her arms, and points to a peak”, notes a local resident.
The 60 meter high and wide mural was painted on the mountainside. To achieve it, the artist saype worked for three days. It uses biodegradable pigments based on charcoal and chalk so as not to impact the environment. “It’s three yearss of research and development, and then after, five years of environmental study”he explains.
“They contemplate the fragility of nature”
His black and white works have traveled the world. The artist signs poetic frescoes that question us about our relationship to nature. “The old lady would represent wisdom, and the little, the future and innocence. They contemplate the immensity of nature, but also the fragility. That’s the whole message of thework”, emphasizese Saype.
