Thick black smoke, and the smell of burnt tires. This Tuesday morning, from five o’clock, a hundred employees of Dassault Aviation have erected a filter dam on the Anglet site, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. These roadblocks follow the proposal for a 1.8% salary increase initiated by management. Insufficient for the CFDT and the CGT, which demand a revaluation of more than one hundred euros net per month.
According to the unions, the year 2021 has been particularly beneficial for Dassault Aviation, with in particular an order of 80 Rafale from United Arab Emirates to France, for 16 billion euros. “We want our piece of the pie” explain the employees by sounding firecrackers, and blocking the arrival and exit of aviation equipment on site.
Unions promise filter dams until the December 23 holiday. The CGT intends to continue the movement in January if their demands are not heard.
