A farmer was seriously injured in a tragic accident on his own land, Thursday, in Beauce. He eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called to intervene on the 4e row, in Saint-Pierre-de-Broughton, around 10:30 a.m. The 911 call reported a man sustaining serious injuries inflicted by a mower.
The emergency services declared the farmer dead as soon as they arrived on the scene. According to SQ spokesperson Éric Cadotte, the man was alone at the time and fell while operating the machine.
The forensic identification unit went to the scene to shed light on the events.
Although it does not know the causes and circumstances of death for the moment, the Sûreté du Québec confirms that the victim was on his property. There will therefore be no CNESST investigation in connection with the accident.
