The elected municipal officials of Saint-Rémy-du-Nord (North) have waived their allowances until the end of 2023. Allowances which represent 689 euros for deputy mayors and 1,660 euros for the mayor. Thanks to this gesture, the town hall of Saint-Rémy-du-Nord saved 65,000 euros.
The town separates from its presbytery
The object of this sacrifice of elected municipal officials: a school whose cost of work is 2.5 million euros. “We took out a loan, we got grants, but we didn’t get all the grants. We still have 172,000 euros to collect”says Laurence Lemaire, first deputy mayor of Saint-Rémy-du-Nord. The town hall also decided, reluctantly, to separate from the presbytery.
