A miracle has just happened in the Colombian Amazon rainforest. Four indigenous children, aged 1 to 13, were found after 40 days. The whole country thought they were dead after the crash of the small plane carrying also their mother. The survivors will be able to find their grandmother, Fatima Valencia. “I will hug all four of them (…). Now that I have recovered my daughter’s body and despite the pain, I will cheer them up”she said.
More than a hundred soldiers mobilized
Very weak because left to their own devices without food or drinking water, the children had to undergo numerous medical examinations. For more than a month, more than a hundred soldiers have traveled 2,600 km in a forest populated by jaguars, snakes and voracious insects. The survivors were found 5 km from the aircraft wreckage. Saturday, June 10, they landed in Bogota, where they will be taken care of before being reunited with their families.
