In the middle of the “We Love Green” Festival, Blanche Gardin surprises the crowd with her speech on poor housing

After a significant rainy episode last year, the Festival We Love Green was making a comeback in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. In addition to the rays of sunshine that will illuminate the event, dozens of artists will make the trip: Orelsan, Gazo, Phoenix, Apple, Dinos, Pusha T… The kickoff was Friday June 2, 2023. However, the course of this first day was somewhat “disturbed” by the arrival of two people who were not scheduled. Before the rapper PLK made his entrance, Blanche Gardin and Aymeric Lompret appeared to everyone’s surprise.

Surprise arrival and militant speech

No performance on the program for the two comedians but a speech on a very important subject: poor housing in France.

“The housing crisis, there are 330,000 homeless people in France today. It is true that we are not directly concerned but that does not prevent us from being indignant. We are all wet, I have a laptop, a telephone… We all have old-world poo on us. But we all have to accept it and collectively ask ourselves how we’re going to be able to get rid of it. Do we all have to take a shower together? Without the children of course”dropped the ex-member of the Jamel Comedy Club.

Subsequently, Christophe Robert, general delegate of the Abbé Pierre Foundation gave some edifying figures: nine million poor, four million poorly housed in the seventh richest country in the world. “The homeless have doubled in ten years! We can’t go on like this!”, “Yes, but people don’t want to work when it’s enough to cross, we were told”, she added, referring ironically to the comments made by Emmanuel Macron. “We have to change the world, we have to demand a more united world, we will be happier if we are united”, concluded the artist, encouraging the public to do “a donation to the Abbé Pierre Foundation, which finances 800 projects a year, real solutions against poor housing”.
