The repeal of the most important measure of the pension reform, namely the passage of the legal age from 62 to 64, was challenged in the Social Affairs Committee. It was article 1 of the bill brought by the LIOT group. The rejection sparked an uproar on the left.
Can the National Assembly question the pension reform? A new battle begins. First stage, Wednesday May 31 in the morning. The deputies examine a bill which plans to reduce the retirement from 64 to 62 years. During this preparatory discussion in committee, the National Rally and the Nupes defended the return to 62 years. But the presidential camp and the Republicans say “no” and brandish the blow of this measure, and its impact on the pension system.
And Wednesday noon, the return to 62 years old was challenged. But the opposition is determined to reintroduce retirement at 62. It will be June 8, when the bill will be debated in the hemicycle. The second stage should then be played. The President of the Assembly could put forward the cost of the measure with the financial inadmissibility, it is article 40. It would therefore allow the presidential camp to prevent any vote on the 62 years. If indeed there is no vote, a third stage could take shape. Charles de Courson considers a motion of censure against the government. The Nupes would vote for it, the National Rally has not yet decided.
