Kevin has created a second-hand toy store, Le Temps des ReTrouvailles. The goal: to increase the lifespan of toys which can be the worst in terms of ecology. He mentions in particular the first age toys which are not used, on average, until 8 months after having been purchased. However, these toys could have a lifespan of up to 30 years, points out Kevin. “These toys have several problems: we don’t really know how to recycle them, they are the hardest toys to recycle, because they are made of fire resistant materials and, in addition, they have an electronic part.“, he develops.
Toys sold by Kevin are collected from individuals. “We buy them back, we will then control them, inventory them and once we have inventoried them, we will move on to the toy revaluation stage.“, explains Kevin. Also, some of the toys are stored in bulk:”It allows you to be able to consume differently, that is to say not to be held by packaging that requires you to buy 3 or 4 Playmobil characters. “
Today, around 150,000 tonnes of toys are thrown away each year.
